Thông thường khi bạn mua các thiết bị phần cứng thì thường các Drvier luôn được tích hợp theo các đĩa đi kèm. Nếu không may bạn đánh mất chiếc đĩa đó thì bạn có thể download các Driver đó từ website của nhà sản xuất. Nhưng bạn có chắc rằng lúc nào bạn cũng biết các thiết bị phần cứng của mình xuất sứ từ nhà sản xuất nào không?

Bất kì thiết bị nào cũng có 1 Vendor và Device id để liên kết. Nếu bạn tìm ra ID này bạn có thể tìm ra nhà sản xuất, với các thao tác đơn giản sau đây có thể sẻ giúp được bạn :

1. Open Device Manager (Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager)
2. The hardware whose drivers are missing will appear as Unknown device, so it’s easier to locate the device.
3. Right click on the unknown device and click on Properties.
4. Under the Properties window click on Details tab and select Device Instance Id from the drop down box.
5. You should see a code similar to this

   PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27DC&SUBSYS_30868086
   &REV_01\4&1E46F438&0&40F0
   

6. The portion of the code highlighted in RED is the Vendor ID and the portion highlighted in GREEN is the Device ID. In this example:

   Vendor ID = 8086
   Device ID = 27DC

7. Giả sử bạn đã tìm ra được ID, công việc tiếp theo của bạn là vào website này  PCI Database. Tại đây bạn có theerr search vendor từ vendor ID bạn đã tìm được hoặc trực tiếp tìm được các thông tin của nhà sản xuất thông qua tìm các the device ID.

Giải phóng ổ cứng sau khi cài đặt Windows Vista Service Pack 2

Sau khi cài đặt Windows Vista Service Pack 2, bạn có thể sử dụng Windows Component Clean Tool (COMPCLN.exe) để xóa các tập tin lưu trữ. Công cụ này cũng loại bỏ các tập tin được lưu trữ sau khi Windows Vista SP1 đã được cài đặt. Bạn có thể giải phóng có khi lên đến hơn 1GB dung lượng ổ cứng(nếu Vista SP1 Files Removal Tool VSP1CLN.EXE chưa từng được sử dụng trước đó). Khi lệnh COMPCLN.EXE được thực thi mà trước đó VSP1CLN.EXE đã được thực thi rồi thì chỉ giải phóng tấm 400MB mà thôi.

Bạn có thể sử dụng công cụ này nếu:

• Vista Sp2 của bạn đang chạy ổn định và không có ý muốn gở bỏ SP1 cũng như SP2 ra khỏi hệ thống
• Chỉ sử dụng nếu bạn thật sự cần tăng thêm dung lượng cho ổ cứng

Lưu ý: Bạn sẽ không thể gở bỏ cài đặt Windows Vista SP1 hoặc SP2 sau khi chạy công cụ này
